I’ve been having a quiet weekend so far, but it’s been a really good one for getting things done. And this morning I had one of those seriously affirming moments that showed me I’m on the right track toward achieving my goals this year! Yes, I’ll have to work hard (and smart), and yes, I’ll really have to push myself out of my comfort zone but as I wrote over on my blog this morning… it’s time.

This afternoon I’m going to take myself over to the zoo and walk around a bit and listen to the band concert. My brother sent me a photo of my music teacher yesterday, announcing that she’s retiring from the concert band we both joined as teenagers. So I’m feeling a little nostalgic about that, even though I haven’t been home or seen her in years.

Creating Coloring Pages in Affinity Designer

The Creating a Coloring Book with Affinity Designer course from my friend Kerie Hinchliffe is a good one for you if you’re wanting to create your own images for your coloring books. I’ve gotten through the first module where she goes through where to find images, and what file types to look for. I’ve also got through pieces of the second module where she talks about the parts of Affinity Designer we’ll be using in the rest of the course. I really like how clearly Kerie explains everything and even though I’ve used Designer for a few things, I’m learning a lot in this course that’s going to help me with publishing my own coloring books down the road.
