Freedom from Overwhelm, Deals Ending Today, and 5 Tips for Sharing Your Content

It’s another dreary looking day here in Central Ontario, but at least it’s not raining.

I’ve been up since about 4 a.m. working because I couldn’t sleep for worrying about the critical errors on my site. So after a few hours of trying to diagnose the problem myself and having to put in a support ticket on a completely unrelated issue, I found out when they replied that it was a memory issue and nothing I could’ve fixed on my own anyways!

The good news is that the site appears to be functioning as it’s supposed to now, and so I can get on with adding in the missing data from Monday’s outage. And then the work of rebuilding UsePLR from scratch begins.

But before I get started on all of that we have goodies to talk about.

Today’s Read: 5 Tips for Sharing Your Content

One of the saddest things I find in content marketing is that way too many people treat their content as a one-and-done event. They write a post or an email and share it once, and then it sits either on their blog or in an archive somewhere waiting for readers to randomly stumble on it. There’s so much more you can do with the content that you’ve worked hard to create to get it in front of as many eyeballs as possible, and in today’s read I have five tips for you to do just that.

Tip #1 – Understand your audience

When you share anything you need to think about who is looking at it. Who is your audience? Do they want to see this? Do they need to see this? Is this going to add value to their lives? If you created the content for them, then you’d be doing a disservice to them not to share it enough times that as many people in your audience see it as possible.

Tip #2 – Have a content sharing schedule

Sharing one random posts several times a day isn’t going to get you the results you want. Get creative with how you schedule re-shares so that you are sharing a mix of new and older content.

Tip #3 – Make sure what you share has value

When you create any content, if your purpose is to help your audience in some way, then it’s important to make sure they see it.  Looking at content sharing this way also helps you see that you’re providing value to your community, and when that’s the case you need to share it more than once to be sure everyone gets the information.

Tip #4 – Change it a little every time

Just because you are sharing content multiple times, you don’t want the share to look the same every time. Make little changes such as highlighting a different piece of information, changing up the graphic, or mentioning a different source. That way your audience will get even more information, and your content will appear more valuable.  

Tip #5 – Pay attention to the stats

Statistics show that sharing content multiple times can double the number of views it gets. Pay attention to your stats and see how your audience is responding to your shares and re-shares. As always, do more of what you see is working and less of what’s not.

Sharing content more than once doesn’t take that much extra work. Just pull out five to 10 blurbs from each piece of content, optimize the information for each network that you use, and set it up in your scheduling software. It might add 20 minutes to your day but if it doubles your views and brings in extra sales, it’s worth it.
