Happy Saturday!
It’s a gorgeous, sunny morning here in Central Ontario. We were supposed to go golfing last night, but it rained all day and that usually turns our golf course into a swamp so we didn’t go, and Shaun left early to visit his girlfriend for the weekend.
Submissions are starting to come in for the Birthday Bash, and I’m so relieved! It’s getting down to the June 30 deadline, although I’m not sure how that came up so fast so I was worried that no one wanted to come and play this year! If you’re thinking of submitting, you can check out all the details here.
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that to run a bundle, and to juggle that with all the other moving parts of my business I need to have at least a minimum of organizational abilities (which are definitely not my strong suit.) In today’s read I’m sharing a few tips I’ve learned and hope they’ll be useful to you too.
Today’s Read: Four Tips on Getting and Staying Organized
Organization is definitely not my strong suit, but I’ve had to learn because it’s obvious that without at least a minimum of organization, your business plan and to-do lists aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. Even outside of business, your personal life thrives more on organization. It helps you achieve consistency and focus and provides the flexibility you need to be successful and in control of your life and business.
Being organized makes it easier to handle many tasks throughout your day to be more productive and waste less time jumping around between functions or other objects in your way. In other words, if you want to achieve more goals easily and as stress-free as possible, you need to adopt the right organizational habits.
Here are four tips to hep you get and stay organized…
Tip #1 – Create Good Habits and Repeatable Routines
Being organized is about finding the routines and habits that keep the momentum going. Keep the process simple, and don’t overthink it. Stick to your schedule and commitments, don’t hit snooze, and find systems that make sense for the activities you are doing that are easy to accomplish.
Tip #2 – Understand Your Priorities and Efforts
Organization takes effort and consistent action to be successful. Be mindful of your priorities and what is expected of you daily to ensure you adopt the right habits for you and your business.
Tip #3 – Set Boundaries
As a solopreneur, there’s definitely crossover between my business and personal life. But setting boundaries, expectations, and limits for work and personal stuff helps to make sure I’m not in work mode 24/7. Easy boundaries to set could be not working on weekends or after a certain time at night. I’m lucky in that I don’t have kids to worry about, but even now Shaun and I try to set some family time for things like golf and dinner together once or twice a week.
Tip #4 – Declutter and Categorize
Keeping your physical space organized is a big help for staying focused and on track. Develop dedicated areas for physical and digital things and always put them back before leaving for the day. For example, one of the things we teach in the PLR Hoarding Challenge is to organize and inventory all your PLR so that you’re not feeling overwhelmed when it comes to using your digital content. (Use coupon code RUTHIEHOARDS to get the challenge for $5)
All it takes is one repeatable movement with consistent action and the commitment to stay on track each day to be organized. The hardest part is getting started, but by starting small and building on each success, you will gain the momentum and drive to thrive once you get going.

I haven’t been there since about March and as much as I love my Kindle, I’m really missing a real book to relax with right now!
Have an amazing day! Create what makes your heart happy!
