Happy Friday!
I’m not quite sure where today went or how it got to be evening already!
It’s been a pretty quiet and peaceful day here. I went to the diner for breakfast – my weekly foray into the world – and other than that I’ve just been sitting here working away all day. I didn’t even realize how late it was until I looked out the window and it’s almost dark!
So, did I get anything accomplished today?
Yes, thank you very much, I did.
The replay from Tuesday’s workshop is up on the access page. Of course, in true Ruthie fashion, Camtasia crashed on me with about 30 minutes to go in the video. Thank goodness I had saved it about halfway through, and only had to go back and redo about 10 minutes of cleanup before finishing.
And I added one of the extra videos I mentioned as well as links to all the resources, and details on how to participate in the challenge. I’ve also extended the voting period until end of day on March 10 to give you a little more time to get something submitted if you were planning on it.

And, in keeping with the content marketing theme this weekend, I have another installment for you today on how to determine your content’s purpose.
Today’s Read: 6 Questions That Determine Your Content’s Purpose
Yesterday we talked about creating your content plan, but I probably did things a little backwards because I’m thinking we really should have started with figuring out a purpose for your content. So here are a few questions you can ask yourself about the content you’re creating…
Who Are You Creating the Content For?
Use your audience persona, or a customer persona to help you focus yourself on the content you’re creating. The material you create for people on your list will depend on how they signed up for the list, which freebie they downloaded, which product they purchased, and what your goals are for that list segment. What you create for the audience you have that has never purchased or converted in any way will be different.
And now, here are your deals for today…
Top Picks Today
Pick #1 – Low Content Intel from Amy Smereck – If you haven’t seen this yet, you are missing one of the best research reports for our niche, and Amy does one of these every single month! I’ve been getting them for awhile now, and this is hands down my favorite way to find out exactly what’s going on.
Each report includes 40 – 50 pages of up to date market research on top search results in Amazon for a low-content book “genre,” rotating through planners, journals, coloring books, etc.
Data on Titles, Subtitles, Covers, Categories, Keywords, Descriptions, formats, marketing and more are compiled, analyzed, and presented in easy-to access charts and stats. Amy also includes Insights that pop out to her as she is researching: observations, opportunities, trends that are fresh for picking.
And, she’s having a March Forth sale this week! From today through Sunday, March 13 you can save either $5 per month on the monthly subscription, or $50 per year on the annual option.
