It’s no secret that the internet is flooded with content, and more is being added every single day. The question then becomes how do you, as a content creator go about creating standout content that gets seen through all the noise?
Here are 10 tips for creating standout content for your audience:
Tip #1 – Develop your own voice
The best content creators out there have a knack for developing their own unique voice. Personally, I like to think I fall into that category. I know I have a unique writing style and a voice that isn’t quite like any of the other content marketers I know out there, and if you know me you can spot my stuff a mile away – even when I start with piece of PLR content as the base.
Tip #2 – Share personal stories
Don’t be afraid to share a bit about your life outside the internet. Getting personal with your audience makes you more relatable, and lets them see how you use what you are teaching them in your own life and business.
Tip #3 – Tell stories
There’s been a lot written lately about selling through stories. Myself, I have a hard time with this one because I don’t feel like I’m much of a story teller. But there is a lot of truth in the teaching that being able to tell good stories in your content makes it much more effective and engaging.

Tip #4 – Find your niche and then go deeper
It’s easy to create content for a broad niche, but to really stand out you want to go deeper into the niche and find a specific segment of that market that is not getting the attention they deserve. Deep dives into sub-topics that aren’t being covered is a great way of creating standout content.
Tip #5 – Be informed
When it comes to creating standout content, it pays to be informed about what others in your niche are up to. Subscribe to newsletters, read blogs, listen to podcasts, and watch videos that have been created about your topic. That doesn’t mean you should copy what others are doing, but use what you learn from them to create content that is uniquely yours.
Tip #6 – Keep an open mind
Content ideas are all around you if you keep an open mind about what you’re seeing. Following other niches, talking to friends, even working an offline job, can all be sources of inspiration for your own content creation efforts.
Tip #7 – Brainstorm, brainstorm, brainstorm
Whether you call it brainstorming, brain dumping, or idea generation make sure you spend some time doing this. Write your ideas down and get them out of your head so that you can evaluate and make use of them.
Tip #8 – Be contrary
Another great way to create standout content is to share an opinion that’s contrary to what everyone else in your niche believes. Don’t be obnoxious about it, but when everyone else is writing about the pros of a given topic, don’t be afraid to write about the cons and alternate solutions instead.
Tip #9 – Take a chance on new platforms
New platforms for content delivery are popping up every day, and old ones are getting a makeover that might work for your content. Don’t be afraid to test out new platforms and see how they work for your niche. I’ll be exploring TikTok videos as a way of content marketing over the coming weeks and will keep you posted on how that goes.
Tip #10 – Try new things
If you’re not trying new things, you’re not growing and you run the risk of everyone else doing the same thing you are. Mix up the tried and true content you’re used to creating with new types of content, new topics, and new methods of delivery to continue having your content stand out from the rest of the people in your niche.
The real key to creating standout content is to make it unique. How you write and what you write about factor in to defining your own unique voice, and that more than anything else will help you stand out from the crowd.
